What is The Vigil Lamp?
A daily membership for Orthodox homes. Each day you receive one saint: the icon, the appointed readings, the story, the prayer, the questions, the family activity, the audio, and the coloring pages. Past days stay in your library.
We are a family offering, not an official diocesan publication. More is on the About page.
How much does it cost?
Two ways to pay:
- $5 a month
- $50 a year
That is the founding price. If you join as a founding member and stay, it stays locked in while the membership stays active. If you cancel and come back later, the public price at that time may apply.
What is the 7-day trial?
From launch on August 25, 2026, every new member gets seven free days. The seven days start the day you begin the membership. They end seven days later.
If you join in September, you get seven days from your start date. We do not backdate the trial to August 25. The trial is the same offer whenever you start.
You connect a payment method when you begin, so the membership can continue if you stay. The first charge comes after the trial, if you have not canceled. If you cancel before the seven days end, you will not be charged.
How do I register?
Register at /pre-register/ or Subscribe on the site. Checkout is open now. Start a 7-day free trial.
After the trial it is $5/month or $50/year. Founding families lock in $5. A card is collected at checkout when you start the trial.
How do I cancel?
Cancel in your account, or write to hello@thevigillamp.com and we will do it for you. You may cancel anytime, including during the trial.
- During the trial, you owe nothing.
- A monthly membership stops at the end of the period you already paid. We will not charge you again.
- If you prepaid the year and need to leave early, write us. We will treat you fairly.
Can I print the coloring pages?
Yes. Print the coloring pages and the activities for your own family, for personal and home use.
You may not republish the stories, copy the program, or take the icons out and reuse them as your own art. A grandmother reading to the grandchildren is exactly what this is for. Posting tomorrow's saint on the internet is not.
If a parish or school wants to use this with more than one household, write us first.
Is there audio?
Yes. Each day has a listen: the edition spoken, so a family can play it in the car, at breakfast, or at home. Listen in your own home.
Who is the membership for?
One household. Share it around your own table. Do not share the login with other families.
A parent or other grown-up creates and holds the account. Children use the daily vigil with a parent. The stories are true lives of the saints, and some of those lives include hardship and martyrdom. We tell them carefully. You know your children.
